Before you come

What to Bring

You'll sort the obvious things. These are the few we'd actually pack for a stay on Hull Creek — the ones guests tell us they wish they'd thought of.

  • A book you won't rush. The porch does the rest.
  • Polarized sunglasses. To see into the water if you'll be fishing.
  • A thin stinger suit, if you're here in jellyfish season. Nettles drift in for four to six weeks somewhere between June and September, never all summer, never on schedule. Swim with a light layer and you'll be covered.
  • Water shoes, if you mean to wade out. The shallows are soft and a little oystery underfoot.
  • Binoculars. Osprey, eagles, and herons keep us occupied all day. You never know when you might spot something remarkable.
  • Slip-on shoes for the sauna walk. You'll make the walk more than once. You won't want laces.
  • A swimsuit, whatever month it is. The hot tub runs all year, and even when the creek is cold, it's worth a plunge post-sauna.
  • A nice-to-have: a quality camera for the evening the sunset goes gold.

When you're ready

The rest is already here.
